Why Kentucky farmers are quitting tobacco and turning to hemp

This video is from last year however the facts are still relevant. As the world’s resources are being destroyed without much thought of future generations and precious species that are more and more endangered we need to replace useless crops like tobacco with more sustainable crops like hemp. About 4.2 million hectares of tobacco were under cultivation worldwide in 2000, yielding over seven million tonnes of tobacco. [source: wikipedia] That’s around the size of Switzerland.

There is no other crop that has so many positives to replace environmentally damaging/inferior quality/less sustainable crops. If the leaders of the world focused on issues like this instead of issues of migration and human related background noise that will always go on maybe we could save more of this beautiful earth.
