House of Hemp specializes in selling hemp lime as insulation to all kinds of buildings. This natural material fits perfectly in both new buildings and for renovation of old and historic buildings.

We have a passion for sustainable building and renovation, and want to be a driving force in getting the construction industry to transition to healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable materials.

Peter Holmdahl has for many years worked in sustainable development and has previously worked with exporting Swedish environmental technology to the USA. There he was responsible for, among other things, a project to promote Swedish environmental technology in the US, in collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth and the Swedish Embassy in Washington DC.

Ingrid Holmdahl has entrepreneurship in the blood. She joined and started up Lilla Bommens boat harbor in Gothenburg and for 30 years has run a marina in Bohuslän. During the 1990s, she was early in the IT industry, where she worked to sell computer programs to airports.

The interest in hemp arose in 2013 when a field in the family farm was needed to be remedied and Ingrid got the hint to grow hemp to clean up the soil. Later in the year, we began to learn about the unique properties of hemp lime as an insulating material, when we visited an annual hemp conference in Germany. It was also here that we discovered BCB Tradical, which since the 1990s has worked with and developed hemp lime products for both renovation and new construction.
