Just as we are becoming more and more interested in ecology and what we put inside our bodies, fortunately we are also starting to take an interest in what we stay in physically. Sustainable construction is gaining more traction in our surroundings - partly because of the environmental benefits - but certainly also because of the great benefits that are achieved in the indoor climate when you build with natural materials. Because when you build from natural materials, you avoid all the surface treatments, varnishes, chemicals etc. which in conventional construction will stand and outgas long after the construction is finished. You also avoid e.g. LDPE/PE/PVC in vapor barrier. For some, that chemistry can mean allergic reactions, which can be difficult to live with.
